Hasta Nakshatra
Hasta, the hand, is presided over by Savitar, the solar deity of inspiration. It is linked with craftsmanship, practical skill, humour and the ability to manifest ideas.
Traditional themes
Hasta is traditionally associated with skill, craft, dexterity. Its ruling planet, Moon, is also the lord of the first Vimshottari Dasha for anyone born with the Moon in Hasta, who begins life in the Moon Mahadasha (10 years in full, of which only a balance remains at birth).
The Deva gana places Hasta among the divine (gentle, idealistic) temperaments used in nakshatra-based compatibility checks.
