Divisional Charts (Shodashvarga)

Each divisional chart (varga) magnifies one area of life: the D9 Navamsa for marriage and dharma, the D10 Dashamsha for career, the D7 for children, the D12 for parents and so on. Enter your birth details to see all sixteen Parashari vargas.

The sixteen vargas

A varga divides each sign into equal (or, for the D30, unequal) parts and maps each part to a sign. The classical rules come from Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra. Because the higher vargas use very small divisions — the D60 is half a degree — they need an accurate birth time.

Frequently asked questions

Which divisional chart is most important?

After the birth chart (D1), the Navamsa (D9) is considered the most important. The D10 is read for career.

Why do I need an exact birth time?

The Lagna moves about one degree every four minutes, so higher divisional charts can change with small time errors.
