KP Ruling Planets Now
In KP astrology, the planets ruling the present moment — the ruling planets — are used to answer questions and to check a birth time. Choose your city to see them for right now.
Using ruling planets
The ruling planets are the sign, star and sub lords of the rising degree (Lagna) and of the Moon at this moment, plus the lord of the day (counted from sunrise). In KP, planets that appear among the ruling planets and also signify the relevant houses are considered the ones that will deliver the result.
Frequently asked questions
Why do the ruling planets change so quickly?
The Lagna moves about one degree every four minutes, so its sub lord can change within minutes.
Does the day lord change at midnight?
No — in the Vedic reckoning the day starts at local sunrise.
